Financial Contribution & Collection

updated 10/10/25 — effective 1/1/26
We are deeply entrenched in capitalism and therefore we exchange money for our time and effort. To resist this impersonal exchange, I offer a tier structure based on your assessment of your financial need.

Tiered Contribution Structure

A tiered contribution structure creates a path for you to contribute what you can towards your personal and professional growth while honoring your financial constraints and limited resources.

Here's my ask:

  1. First, take some time to consider your financial need and privilege.
  2. Then, place yourself in the tier structure below, while also considering how often we'll be meeting
    • once a month is typical, but twice a month is welcomed
  3. Finally, determine an amount of money within that tier's range that reflects your financial stability, your dedication to this work, and the value of my contributions (effort, lived experience, range of professional practice, education, continuing education, and cost of living).

Here is a detailed explanation of each tier:

Tier 1: In need of significant financial support

Select this option if you need the utmost consideration and support for your financial needs. You keep a tight budget and you need to be financially supported, as fully as possible.

Tier 2: In need of considerable financial support

Select this option if your financial reality is often precarious and not quite stable enough to commit more toward sessions. Perhaps you are making ends meet but still have a lot of bills to pay. Maybe an unexpected and urgent expense presented itself and has made a dent in your bank account. Maybe your cash flow is mostly stable, but sometimes deeply changed.

Tier 3: In need of some financial support

Select this option if you know that even though you sometimes stress about money, you have stable-enough resources, and you can consistently make your financial ends meet. This option is an honest and thoughtful way of committing to the wider community who may not have the same access to financial wealth and privilege that you may have. And you understand that having a "scarcity" belief system doesn't necessarily reflect scarcity in your bank account.

Tier 4: Not in need of financial support

While this tier doesn't necessarily reflect your emotional or spiritual state of well-being, select this option if you have consistent and stable financial resources. In this moment, you are fully aware of your financial privilege to support yourself and others. You are aware that committing to the cost of this session will not impact your life in any momentary or lasting ways.

An additional ask for Tier 4 folks: Consider donating above your contribution to financially support others who are experiencing temporary financial hardships. That is, I have a big heart and will financially accommodate for a set amount of time below the lowest contribution for those in need. For example, at the start of COVID, people donated so others could have super low cost or even no cost sessions to maintain their sense of financial stability and to continue to serve their clients.

Note: Sometimes, we meet for longer or shorter amounts of time. Your financial contribution will be prorated.

Contribution Rates

Remembering to collect payments after each session can be challenging, so to accommodate my neurology, I will collect your financial contribution on the day you booked the session.

Tier 1
$150–200
Tier 2
$200–250
Tier 3
$250–300
Tier 4
$300+

Rescheduling, Cancelling, & Refunds

Financial contributions already collected are non‑refundable, except if we end our working relationship (a prorated refund for unused sessions will be refunded).

When you need to reschedule or cancel:

  • please reschedule/cancel using the link in the confirmation email you received or the calendar invitation
  • if you reschedule/cancel at least 48 hours before our session, your pre-payment is credited towards the rescheduled session. You can only reschedule the original session once.
  • if you reschedule/cancel less than 48 hours before our session OR no call/no show, your pre-payment is not credited towards the next session and you will not receive a refund.

When I need to reschedule or cancel:

  • you'll receive a cancellation notification asking you to reschedule
  • your pre-payment is credited towards the rescheduled session

Remembering to collect payments after each session can be challenging, so to accommodate my neurology, I will collect your financial contribution on the first of the month for the entire month.

If this setup is not financially accessible to you for any reason, please let me know and we can co-create a plan that will accommodate your financial needs.

Since you're paying for the whole month up front, the tiers are deeply discounted:

Weekly supervision contribution rates by tier
Tier 1 Tier 2 Tier 3 Tier 4
Per session $100–125 $125–150 $150–175 $175+
4 sessions/month $400–500 $500–600 $600–700 $700+

Rescheduling, Cancelling, & Refunds

Financial contributions already collected for the month are non‑refundable, except if we end our working relationship (a prorated refund for unused sessions will be refunded).

When we know of upcoming rescheduling/cancelling needs, we can address it before the first of the month to prorate the monthly payment.

When you need to reschedule or cancel:

  • please message me
  • if you reschedule/cancel at least 48 hours before our session, your pre-payment is credited towards the next month.
  • if you reschedule/cancel less than 48 hours before our session OR no call/no show, your pre-payment is not credited towards the next month and you will not receive a refund.
  • rescheduling sessions without ample time (aka: at least a week) is incredibly difficult given my teaching schedule. I do my best to accommodate our ever-changing schedules, but I cannot guarantee that I will be able to.

When I need to reschedule or cancel:

  • you'll receive a text from me
  • your pre-payment is credited towards the next month

Contribution Conversations

Every year, usually in November or December, I initiate a conversation about contributions. Sometimes, I change my expectations. Sometimes, you change your expectations. So we talk about it :)

However, you may change your contribution at any time through initiating a conversation with me.

Collecting Contributions

I use Ivy Pay to store your financial information (HIPAA compliant) and to process payments.
